The negotiations were successful; I now have a job… starting in July. An after school program with elementary kids. The July start is an all day summer camp thing. Basically back to the same; but at least the hours are better, I just work from 11 am to 6, so I can get stuff done in the mornings with my daughter.
It will be a long 3 month wait for that first pay-cheque however. I plan to try and get some hours subbing and I am also applying at some adult teaching locations to try and get a part time evening conversation job. I don’t think things will be back to normal yet, but at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel in sight.
V returned the scooter we have been borrowing from her friend’s brother yesterday. We are now down to 1 scooter, my shiny new one, and that is already making life easier.
We purchased a light foldable stroller that fits on our scooter last Friday. It is bright orange so the blind drunk drivers will somehow see it and should, ideally, avoid it while we walk about.
Our next most likely move will be to get into a better neighborhood with sidewalks and a kitchen that 2 people can fit into. Small details- but we are (almost) back on our feet after a long migratory downsizing year of extended austerity and coming to the conclusion that the West is not the best. (anymore)
Anyways, I hope everyone does well in the future. Here are some pics from our friend’s visit.
